We held our initial training meeting on Easter Saturday at Filleigh Village Hall, when almost 100 people turned up, seeking to join the summer training classes. After a short demonstration in the fields by some of the trainers with their gundogs on what commands we use when training, everyone came back inside.
A team of helpers worked tirelessly all afternoon booking people onto the classes for both Retriever and Spaniel training with the sales team giving advice and selling training equipment for both new and more experienced handlers. This kept everyone busy, including the ladies in the kitchen, who made lots of cups of tea and coffee with scones, jam and cream (the Devonshire way).
With great weather and an even better atmosphere among the handlers everyone had an excellent day, all fired up and ready to start the summer training programme.
