Our Open Cocker Stake was held on the Molland Estate by kind invitation of the Estate and Caleb Sutton, Bettws Hall Shoot Manager on Wednesday 26th October. A lovely day when the Cockers had to hunt for their game on the Abbot’s Park ground. Quite hard going in places for dogs and their handlers but the game was there to be found with plenty of flushes.
The trial was judged by Jeff Ayres and Aled Jones who needed a three dog run-off to decide the final placings. A delighted Anita Jones won the stake, qualifying for the Championship, with her eight year old Cocker bitch – quite some going to beat two significantly younger dogs in a run-off at that level. Chris Arscott with Wonder of Wiltshire at Centrewalk was the Guns’ Choice.
A very enjoyable day when we all finished back at the London Inn for food and refreshment.
