The summer training programme began with an excellent turnout of members for the signing up session at Filleigh Village Hall. It was particularly rewarding to see a number of new faces who had not been involved with the club before.
The afternoon began with a most instructive talk given by local vet, and club member, Rachael Headon on keeping our dogs fit and healthy, with particular emphasis on the role of ‘prevention rather than cure’. She was ably assisted by Billy, a very compliant and impeccably behaved black Labrador.
The summer programme was then explained in full by Graham Dibble, club training coordinator, before those present were invited to sign-up to either the retriever or spaniel training groups. It also proved to be an opportunity for new members to meet and chat with the club trainers. Many thanks to Skinners who provided all who signed up to the programme with an introductory pack.
The club shop was in full swing with a range of training equipment to suit all needs.
The afternoon ended with tea and scones, ably provided by Jane and Jean from the kitchen.
Further details and any late applications to/from Graham Dibble the Training co-ordinator.
