Introduction to Field Trials training days
We are running 2 Introduction to Field Trials training days for anyone that may be interested in field trials.
These days will be run for people that have not been to a field trial or have a limited knowledge of how field trials work but are interested or looking to take part in the future.
The days will cover,
- What is a Field Trial
- Completion of the Field Trial entry form and FTMS system
- How the draw takes place
- Explanation of the J regs
- Practical demonstration of a Field Trial
We will be running 2 separate days at Abbotsham, Bideford.
On 10th August for the Retriever Trials with Nick Coates who is a KC approved ‘J’ regs instructor and ‘A’ panel judge.
and
On 11th August for the Spaniel Trials with Margaret Cox who is also a KC approved ‘J ‘ regs instructor and ‘A’ panel judge.
The days will start at 10.00. We will then go through the theory side of what is involved in a field trial and the ‘J’ regs.
After lunch we will head out into the fields/woodlands to have a demonstration of how a trial is run and then finish with a question-and-answer session.
The cost of the day will be £30.00 for members and £45.00 for non-members this will include a copy of the KC ‘J’ regs and an opportunity to run suitably trained dogs in a mock field trial.
The extra £15.00 will cover membership to allow you to take part in any club events.
Please bring your lunch, a chair and pen and paper.
